Remote Pools

ATTENTION: test operation

In times of university closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the HRZ is temporarily making some of their pool rooms available for off-campus use via Cisco Webex Access Anywhere (CWAA) during the summer semester of 2021. Faculty can use CWAA to schedule training and add the pool rooms grouped as labs. Die zur Zeit nutzbaren Räume sind:

note: Our current license model only allows such use until the current contracts expire on April 30, 2021. Which solution will be available after that date and at what cost cannot be predicted at this time.

Preparation

Teachers who would like to conduct training in conjunction with physical pool room PCs via CWAA should note the following:

  • In good time before your on-site training, check the corresponding physical PC pool for functionality. * Make sure that no one tries to use this PC pool on-site at the same time.
  • During the training, make sure that no one tries to use this PC pool on-site at the same time.

The HRZ has reserved the above rooms prepared for CWAA for the entire semester in each case in the room reservation system (SPlus) to avoid double occupancy.

Schedule training

  • Log in to Cisco Webex Meetings with your personal Jade University email address.
  • Click on “Webex Training” in the lower left corner.
  • Click on “Conduct a session as host” / “Set up training

Add at least the following information:

Session and access information:

  • Topics

Date and time:

  • starting time
  • Estimated duration

Practical training during the session: Usually you choose this procedure because you also want to do exercises on reserved PCs in their training.

  • Reserve computer from practical course: Select the HRZ pool room beginning with the term “HRZ”.
    • Internship info: Here you can get more information about our pool room, including the number of PCs.
  • Number of computers: Enter the number of PCs you need and check the availability.

Participant: Select via “Invite participants…” the persons participating in the training (usually the students).

  • You can select via “Select contacts…” Select people from their address book
  • You can also create new participants and add them to your address book as well

Moderators: Select additional persons responsible for the training (usually assistants) via “Invite moderators…”.

  • You can select people from your address book via “Select contacts…”. select persons from their address book
  • You can also create new participants and add them to your address book as well

Session information: Additional information relevant to the training can be added here

Course Material: Upload files you need in advance

Tests:

  • Save as template: If you offer this training on a regular basis, you can save the information provided as a template

In the end, click on “Schedule appointment”. The participants and moderators will be invited via email with appropriate information.
