Note: Please use this service at this time only after consultation with the HRZ.

Microsoft Windows

New devices in the PC-Verbundsystem are delivered by the HRZ fully configured, no configuration is required here.

Devices already in operation must be configured as follows:

  • Start → Services (type in) → Automatic configuration (wired).
    • Start type: Automatic
    • Service status: click the “Start” button once, the service status then changes from “Finished” to “Running”.
  • Start → Settings → Network and Internet → Ethernet → Change Adapter Options
    • Ethernet → Properties → Card Authentication
      • Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication: enabled
      • Method for network authentication: Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)
      • Settings:
        • Trusted Root Certification Authorities: T-Telesec GlobalRoot Class 2: enabled.
        • Authentication Method: Secured Password (EAP-MSCHAP v2).
        • Configure:
          • Automatically use own Windows login name and password: disabled.
      • Store this connection's own credentials for each logon: enabled
      • Additional settings:
        • Specify authentication mode: enabled
          • Select “User Authentication
            • Click “Save credentials”:
              • User name: domain login (form:
              • Password: <your password>

Note: Devices that are already integrated into the PC network system must be configured differently at these points:

  • Automatically use own Windows login name and password: enabled.
  • Select “User or computer authentication”.

Apple macOS

Ubuntu Linux

  • GNOME → Settings
  • Network → Wired - Settings (cogwheel)
  • Card Security
    • 802.1x security: enabled
    • Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
    • Anonymous identity:
