The provision of virtual desktops normally takes place in the form of so-called pools. The following pools -including their basic characteristics- are offered:

Virtual Desktop Pools with Numeral Identification starting from 100

• Available for all members of the university without application
• Works and should be treated like a public computer
• When logging in, any currently free virtual desktop will be allocated
• The users are locally allocated to the group „Users“
• The users can take advantage of all software products provided through the software menu

Virtual Desktop Pools with Numeral Identification under 100

• At the moment, they are only available for members of the university (excluding students) after filing an informal application
• Works and should be treated like a personal computer
• When logging in, one always gets allocated the same virtual desktop
• The user is locally allocated to the group „Administrators“
• The users can take advantage of all software products provided through the software menu
• The users can also install own software

Remark: Please note that no personal virtual desktops can be provided at the moment. This is due to restricted resources. Therefore, please use the pools with numeral identification starting from 100 or use a VPN-connection, in order to access the services of the university.
