The user login to the network system of computers has the following general form:

• username@domain

The „username“ is the username the computing centre assigned to you. „Domain“ is the technical unit, which can confirm your username and password. Technically, the name of the „Active Directory Service (ADS)“ is what is meant. This is a data base with the name hs-woe.de“ specialised in read access. Thus, you log into the network system of computers by typing in the following:

• username@hs-woe.de
• Example: ma1007@hs-woe.de

Remarks:

• The login into the network system of computers is not to be confused with your e-mail address.
• An older notation of login is the form
  • domain\username
  • Example: HS-WOE\ma1007 (This is normally not being used anymore.)
