To store and manage your passwords, we suggest to use the programme KeePass.
To use KePass2 in Windows, download the newest version of KeePass under http://keepass.info/download.html. You can decide between an installer version and a portable version. Now follow the given instructions, until you can execute the programme.
To install KeePass2 on a computer with Debian / Ubuntu, the following commands need to be entered into the terminal:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:jtaylor/keepass sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install keepass2
When using Android, we recommend the app Keepass2Android, because it supports WebDAV and, thus, files of a WebDAV server (e.g. ownCloud) can be called up. This app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
When using iOS devices, we recommend the app KyPass, which also holds the advantage of WebDAV support. There are also free versions able to manage a KeePass Database, which all have different advantages and disadvantages.
After the installation, a new password database needs to be generated. It can be opened either with a master password or a key-file.
