The university computing centre runs two high-precision time servers called LANTIME300 by the company Meinberg in Oldenburg and Wilhelmshaven, which are synchronised via GPS.

** Devices, which are connected to the network of the Jade University via LAN (e.g. PCs) **

• devices within the network system of computers
  • these devices are automatically synchronised with the right time and, thus, do not need to be configured.
• devices outside the network system of computers
  • these devices need to use one of the following time servers:
    • time-els.hs-woe.de
    • time-ol.hs-woe.de
    • time-whv.hs-woe.de

These servers are only usable via NTP protocol and within the three locations of study.

** Devices, which are connected to the network of the Jade University via Wi-Fi (e.g. notebooks) **

• these devices need to use this time server:
  • time.jade-hs.de

This server is usable via NTP protocol and outside the campus.

Remark: Due to safety reasons, the access to external sources of time synchronisation on campus of the Jade University is blocked.
