The following guidelines apply to the passwords of a user account:
We suggest to change your password right after the receipt of your login details. You should also change your password regularly.
You can change your password in our portal for passwords and make use of further possibilities to reset the password. There you will be able to define a security question for the case you forget your password. You can also set up your smartphone in order to reset a forgotten password.
Please note that the change of the password has an impact on nearly all services.
Remark: When using the operation system Microsoft Windows, you can manage your saved passwords in the system control under Anmeldeinformationsverwaltung / Windows-Anmeldeinformationen (ENG: “Login Information Management / Windows Login Information”).
In case you have forgotten your password, you can request another printout of your account data sheet in your local computing centre. You will need to bring your valid ID-card and sign a form by yourself. Forgotten passwords are not sent via e-mail, because we are not able to check your identity this way.
Alternatively, you can use the portal for passwords to activate different methods for password resets.
Please use your password only for the central IT systems of the Jade University. For the diverse online offers, you should use different passwords for each offer.
