The provision of virtual desktops always takes place in so-called pools. The following pools with their main features are offered:

Virtual Desktop Pools with the number identification starting from 100.

• Available to all university staff and members without application.
• Behaves like a public PC
• Any virtual desktop is assigned upon logon.
• Users are locally assigned to the “Users” group
• Users can use all software products provided through the software menu

Virtual desktop pools numbered less than 100.

• Currently available only to University members (excluding students) after informal request.
• Behaves like a own PC.
• The same virtual desktop is always assigned during logon
• The user is locally assigned to the group “Administrators”.
• The users can use all software products provided via the software menu
• The users can also install their own software

Virtual Desktop Pools with number identification starting at 100 - Not yet available.

• Available for University members and staff
• Any virtual desktop from the pool is assigned upon logon.
• Individual settings are automatically saved and restored
• Users are assigned locally to the “Users” group
• Users can use all software products provided via the software menu

Virtual desktop pools numbered below 100.

• Available to University members (excluding students)
• Any virtual desktop from the pool is assigned upon logon.
• Individual settings are automatically saved and restored
• Users are assigned locally to the “Users” group
• Users can use all software products provided via the software menu
